UCT APS Calculation Method

The University of Cape Town uses different calculation methods depending on your chosen faculty.

Uses standard APS calculation with your best 7 subjects including Life Orientation.

FPS = APS

Uses APS plus NBT scores for Academic Literacy, Quantitative Literacy, and Mathematics.

FPS = APS + NBT(AL) + NBT(QL) + NBT(MAT)

Uses APS with additional weighting for Mathematics and Physical Sciences.

FPS = APS + Maths + Physics (if applicable)

Important: Life Orientation is mandatory but contributes 0 points to your APS calculation.
