How Average Calculation Works

Understanding how your academic average percentage is calculated from your subject marks.

How Your Average is Calculated:
  • Your average is calculated using all 7 NSC/IEB subjects
  • Life Orientation is included but set to 0% as it doesn't count towards university admission
  • The total of all marks is divided by the maximum possible marks (600) and multiplied by 100
  • Formula: (Sum of all marks ÷ 600) × 100 = Average Percentage
