UFS APS Calculation Method

The University of Free State uses a unique method to calculate your Admission Point Score (APS).

How UFS Calculates Your APS:

Your APS is calculated using all 7 NSC subjects including Life Orientation
Life Orientation contributes 1 point if you score 60% or above, otherwise 0 points
One of your language subjects must be English (Home Language or First Additional Language)
Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy is required
UFS may have additional subject requirements for specific programs

Special Note for Life Orientation

Life Orientation gives 1 point if you score 60% or above, 0 points if below 60%.
